COUNCIL COLUMN Lithgow COUNCIL CITY Works Update Pipers Flat Road Works are continuing on the shoulder of Pipers Flat Road, between Range Road and John Mackey Drive to re-establish the shoulder drainage and reinforce the channels. These works will aim to drain stormwater off the road and protect it from the sub-grade being weakened by being water soaked. Once this has been in place for a period of 3 to 6 months, works will occur to improve the road surface. Dark Corner Road Works are continuing on Dark Corner Road to re-establish drainage lines and repair major failures in the road. The drainage works are nearly complete with the drains being cleared, reshaped and the armouring of the drains to start soon. Work on the repairing on the failed sections of road has started with a few sections still to be repaired. Once these sections have all been repaired the road will be resealed. Portland Cullen Bullen Road Works have been completed on Portland Cullen Bullen Road between the entry to the Waste Facility and Limestone Creek Road. The works included the re-establishment of the stormwater drainage lines, clearing of the culverts and the repairing of several road failures. The road has been resealed in this section and is now open to traffic. Blackheath Creek Road Council works teams are to start work on Blackheath Creek Road during the week of the 13th February (weather permitting). Meetings have occurred on site to go through the proposed works and organise the required plant for the work. Works will start with the clearing and re-establishing of stormwater drainage lines, clearing culverts and moving to repair the road, including importing roadbase, with a new seal on the road at the completion. Fields Road, Hartley Works have commenced on Fields Road, Hartley. There has been much of the stormwater drains cleared to allow water to get off the road, extra culverts have been installed and some patching works to the road have commenced. The road patching will continue on Fields Road and then move into Hartley Vale Road to focus on the clearing of drains and patching the road. These works should be ongoing for the next 6-8 weeks.
