Scan here to RSVP for coffee and chat at Portland Farmland Rating - Final Reminder In 2025 Farmland Rating applications were posted to eligible property owners last year and were required to be returned by 12 December 2025. Under the Local Government Act, Council is required to correctly categorise all properties. Without a completed application, Council is unable to determine whether the dominant use of a property is for farming purposes. If a completed Farmland Rating application is not received by 28 February 2026, the property's categorisation will automatically be changed to Residential. If you believe your property is eligible for Farmland Rating and have not yet submitted an application, please contact Council as soon as possible to request a form or discuss your circumstances you can also download a form on the Council website. All works may be impacted by weather conditions and are subject to change. Dark Corner Road - Kerb and guttering works have been completed, with additional pothole patching undertaken along sections of the road. Portland Cullen Bullen Road - Sealing works are expected to commence this week and will continue through to next week. Pipers Flat Road, Portland - Clearing of drainage has been completed near John Mackey Drive, with works to continue towards the Portland Golf Club this week and into next week. Magpie Hollow Road - Works are continuing along Magpie Hollow Road and will progressively move towards Hampton Road over the coming weeks. Main Street Pavers - The Council's urban team have been cleaning and preparing the Main Street pavers from Eskbank Street to Lithgow Street ahead of the application of a non-slip treatment which is expected to be applied over the coming weeks. Parks and Gardens - Councils Parks and Gardens team were busy last week preparing Queen Elizabeth Park ahead of Australia Day Celebrations. We live here too! Lithgow City Council employs over 220 people across our region. We are your neighbours, friends and family. We are the person standing beside you at the checkouts, the people working on the roads, mowing the parks and assisting you at the administration centre. Unfortunately, we have seen an increase in abusive behavior. While council is not above criticism, we ask that you be considerate with staff online and in person. If you see a problem, report it!
